This year has flown by and Winter is around the corner, meaning that the Holidays are approaching. Despite the cool temperatures ahead, there's no shortage of activities in Boston to keep you and the whole family occupied. Here are some fun Boston activities you can do in November and December 2024:
1. Ice Skating on the Frog Pond on Boston Common: Surrounded by the Boston skyline, this ice skating rink offers an exciting winter experience for you and the family from the end of November through the first week of March. All levels of skaters are welcome and skate rentals are available. Plus, they sell hot chocolate to help keep you warm!
2. Explore Snowport Boston: Open everyday from Nov. 8th-Dec. 29th (with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas), Seaport becomes a winter wonderland for the whole family to enjoy all season. Featuring over 100+ vendors, this open-air market has food and drinks, games, gift shopping, art shops and more! Located on the Seaport Common, visit to support local small businesses!
3. Run the 12th Annual Franklin Park Turkey Trot: On Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28) run (or walk) in the 12th Annual Turkey Trot. Located at Franklin Park, you can participate in Boston’s largest Thanksgiving Day race. This fun race is 5 kilometers and features prizes, costumes and fun themed games for kids of all ages. 4. Explore Boston Holiday Markets: Pop up markets are a staple in many Boston neighborhoods and as the Holidays approach you will see them all over the city. These markets have something for everyone where they feature a variety of activities, performers, food truck options and Holiday workshops. 5. Experience First Night Boston 2025: Ring in the New Year with First Night Boston 2025. Dating back to 1976, this tradition starts at noon and goes until midnight. Enjoy cultural performances, ice sculpture viewings, live music entertainment and of course, fireworks! This celebration mostly takes place in the City Hall and Faneuil Hall areas but there is a First Night Parade (6PM) that begins in Downtown and ends in the Boston Common. Fireworks are at two locations - Family Fireworks in Boston Common (7PM) and First Night Harbor Fireworks over Boston Harbor (12AM).
